Mahuchikh wins inaugural Ultimate World Championship and $150,000 prize

Mahuchikh’s payout is nearly four times the $40,000 awarded to winners at the 2026 World Indoor Championships and more than double the $70,000 received by individual champions at the 2025 outdoor World Championships in Tokyo.

Winners of all 26 individual events at the Ultimate World Championship — 13 men’s and 13 women’s events — will receive $150,000 each.

Winners of the mixed relay events will split $80,000.

Individual silver medalists will receive $75,000, while third-place finishers will earn $40,000.

Ukraine’s Iryna Herashchenko, who finished fifth in the women’s high jump, will receive $16,000. Yuliia Levchenko, who placed sixth, earned $14,000.

No traditional gold, silver or bronze medals will be awarded at the tournament in Budapest.

Instead, every participant will receive a personalized bracelet, while the winner of each event will get a specially designed trophy that connects with it.

The Ultimate World Championship is planned as a biennial event held at the end of the summer athletics season.

Automatic invitations went to eligible Paris 2024 Olympic champions, 2025 world champions and winners of the 2026 Diamond League Final.

Other places were allocated through the world rankings, with additional wildcard invitations also available.

Ukraine’s Mykhailo Kokhan also finished third in the hammer throw at the inaugural Ultimate World Championship.
