Ukraine's butter exports from January to May 2026 dropped 2.1 times compared with the same period in 2025, falling to 3,800 tons. In monetary terms, exports decreased 2.5 times to $22.3 million.
Azerbaijan ranked second with 19.4% and Georgia third with 9.5%, the data show.
Infagro analysts noted that low global demand for Ukrainian butter remains the main challenge for the dairy sector, keeping milk purchase prices low and worsening the financial situation for most producers.
For the full year 2025, Ukraine exported 15,000 tons of butter — 2.1 times more than in 2024 — with revenue rising 2.2 times to $107.4 million. Moldova (31.4%), Azerbaijan (10.2%) and Poland (9.4%) were the top buyers that year.
Separately, Moldova opened its market in May to Ukrainian live snails and snail roe.
In the current 2025-2026 marketing year (July 2025 to June 2026), Ukraine reduced wheat flour exports by 3% to 48,300 tons compared with the previous season.
Moldova remained the leading buyer at 14,900 tons, followed by Palestine (9,200 tons), and Czechia (7,400 tons).
