Poland’s Sikorski praises Biden’s decisive response to Russian escalation / The New Voice of Ukraine

The massive Russian drone and missile attack on Ukraine on Nov. 17 and the North Korean troops deployment prompted President Joe Biden's decision to authorize long-range strikes inside Russia with U.S.-made missiles, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski wrote on X the same day.

Biden responded in a language Russian dictator Vladimir Putin understands.

"The victim of aggression has the right to defend itself. Strength deters and weakness provokes," he wrote.

Earlier that day, media reported that Biden had authorized Ukraine to carry out strikes deep into Russian territory with U.S.-made ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 190 miles (306 km).

The French newspaper Le Figaro wrote that Britain and France had also authorized strikes deep into Russian territory with their long-range SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles.

According to the New Your Times sources, Russian and North Korean troops are likely to become the first targets of the strikes to help defend Ukrainian forces in Kursk Oblast.

On the night of Nov. 16-17, 2024, Russian forces launched a combined assault with 210 missiles and drones aimed at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 144 of the incoming targets.
