Russian strike on Odesa Oblast injures 35, damages homes and hotel — photos

Rescuers saved seven people, including two children. Some had been trapped in an elevator.

At 11:33 a.m., Odesa Oblast Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said 35 people had been injured in Odesa Oblast, including a 5-month-old infant. Rescuers saved 13 people, including two children. Two other people remained out of contact, and search-and-rescue operations were continuing.

In an earlier update at 10:56 a.m., the Odesa Oblast Military Administration said 28 people had been injured in Odesa, including two children — a 5-month-old infant and a 17-year-old teenager. Fourteen of the injured were hospitalized.

The State Emergency Service reported 16 people injured in Odesa.

Russian forces also struck Chornomorsk, destroying one residential building and damaging three others. The strike damaged a gas pipe, sparking a fire in a building. Five people were injured, including four children.

A hotel with a rehabilitation center and nearby parked cars were also damaged. Rescuers saved people who were unable to move on their own, the State Emergency Service said.

The Odesa Oblast Military Administration had earlier reported 17 people injured in Odesa, including a 5-month-old child.

Overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ballistic, cruise and air-launched missiles, as well as 129 drones. Air defenses neutralized nine missiles and 101 drones. Odesa Oblast was the main target of the overnight attack, the Air Force said.
