Russian infantry probes northern Kharkiv Oblast after heavy losses

Border guards said troops from the Hart Brigade operating on the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi front have detected repeated attempts by Russian infantry to break through near the village of Artilne in Kharkiv Oblast.

According to the DPSU, after sustaining heavy losses in previous assaults, Russian forces have begun probing new sectors. Ukrainian border guards said they are destroying Russian personnel and equipment at the earliest stages of deployment, both on Ukrainian territory and behind Russian lines.

On July 21, Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for Ukraine's Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Forces, said Russian troops are actively pushing through the area of Kivsharivka toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in an attempt to split the Ukrainian bridgehead.

Despite suffering heavy casualties, Russian forces continue their assaults, Trehubov said.

"The situation has also become more difficult in Kupiansk itself, where Russian forces have significantly intensified attempts to enter the city from the north. Fighting is already taking place in the northern districts of the city. We are destroying and pushing back the enemy, but they continue to increase the pressure by committing the reserves they have built up over the summer. Active fighting is ongoing there," Trehubov said.
