Ukraine collects 32.4 million tons from nearly 60% of projected area

The average grain yield stood at 4.7 metric tons per hectare.

Farmers have essentially completed harvesting the main early grain crops.

The wheat harvest has been completed, with 24.926 million metric tons collected from 5.043 million hectares at an average yield of 4.94 metric tons per hectare.

The barley harvest is also complete, with 6.405 million metric tons collected from 1.477 million hectares. Average yields reached 4.34 metric tons per hectare.

Farmers also completed the pea harvest, collecting 797,530 metric tons from 299,110 hectares, with an average yield of 2.67 metric tons per hectare.

The highest yields were recorded in Khmelnytskyi Oblast at 7.07 metric tons per hectare, followed by Sumy Oblast at 5.97 tons and Vinnytsia Oblast at 5.93 tons.

Odesa Oblast harvested the largest volume of early grains and legumes at 4.822 million metric tons.

It was followed by Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with 2.69 million metric tons and Kirovohrad Oblast with 2.424 million metric tons.

Late grain and oilseed harvests underway

Ukrainian farmers are also actively harvesting late grains and oilseeds.

The corn harvest has reached 167,670 metric tons from 35,000 hectares, or about 1% of the projected area, with an average yield of 4.82 metric tons per hectare.

Sunflower production has reached 526,620 metric tons from 275,380 hectares, or 5% of the forecast area, with an average yield of 1.91 metric tons per hectare.

Farmers have harvested 325,780 metric tons of soybeans from 167,510 hectares, equivalent to 11% of the projected area, at an average yield of 1.94 metric tons per hectare.

The millet harvest has reached 51,120 metric tons from 20,820 hectares, or 51% of the projected area, with yields averaging 2.46 metric tons per hectare.

Buckwheat production stands at 26,460 metric tons from 18,240 hectares, or 38% of the projected area, with an average yield of 1.45 metric tons per hectare.

Ukraine’s 2026 harvesting campaign began in mid-June.

Farmers planted 5.88 million hectares of spring grains and legumes during the 2026 spring sowing campaign.

More than 20 million hectares were planted with winter and spring grains and oilseeds for the 2026 harvest.

The Economy Ministry has previously estimated Ukraine’s total grain and oilseed harvest in 2026 at 81 million to 83 million metric tons.

Grain production alone is expected to reach 60 million to 61 million metric tons, broadly in line with last year.
