Footage captures overnight drone strike on Russia’s Engels-2 military airbase

Local residents reported that the attack lasted throughout the night.

Preliminary reports indicate that ZTK-150 drones were likely used in the strikes.

OSINT analysts stated that while the airbase was struck, Russian aircraft still operated from the facility.

The airbase’s military helipads were likely among the targets of the drone strikes. 

The facility is a frequent target because it houses Russian strategic bombers used to carry out strikes against Ukraine.

Drones attacked Russia's Moscow and neighboring Yaroslavl Oblast on the morning of August 28. Local authorities reported “falling debris” as local monitoring channels flagged fires in the area.

Axios reported on August 25 that the United States asked Ukraine to refrain from attacking Moscow, St. Petersburg, and northern Russia for three days, likely during CIA director John Ratcliffe’s visit.
