Russia’s Gazprom production and export figures down sharply since year-start

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom produced 274.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from Jan. 1 to Aug. 15, 2022, which is 13.2% (41.7 bcm) less year-over-year, the company said on its official website on Aug. 16.
The demand for the company’s gas on the domestic market over this period dropped by 2.3% (by 3.6 bcm).
At the same time, exports abroad amounted to 78.5 bcm, or 36.2% (by 44.6 bcm) less y-o-y.
Gazprom did however note growth of exports to China through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline under a bilateral long-term contract.
“Supplies regularly exceed daily contract volumes,” Gazprom said, without disclosing specific figures.
As reported earlier, revenues from energy exports to Russian budget decreasedby 22% in annual terms in July alone.
