Ukraine will receive a second International Monetary Fund (IMF) tranche worth $900 million later this month, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on June 19.
"We are also taking a crucial step towards maintaining macro-financial stability in the country by approving the updated Letter of Intent and Memoranda of Economic and Financial Policies for the IMF," Shmyhal said.
These documents outline Ukraine's commitments on improving the country’s business climate, strengthening the rule of law, and combating corruption.
The loan was preliminarily approved at the end of May through a staff-level agreement on the review of the fund's four-year program.
Under the program, Ukraine has the potential to receive a total of $15.6 billion, with $2.7 billion having already been disbursed in the first tranche.
