Russian propagandists claim sapper dog Patron canonized, Spravdi debunks

Russian propagandists have spread another fake news story claiming that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU) has canonized a popular sapper dog named Patron, providing as evidence pictures of his "icon" supposedly displayed in one of the OCU churches.
This was debunked and labeled as fake news by the Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security (Spravdi) in a Telegram post on Dec. 4:
"Fake: In a church belonging to the OCU, instead of the Royal Gate, an icon of the dog Patron was placed on the iconostasis. According to the head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, the canonization of the dog will help attract more believers to the church, including children.
True: The Patron image on the iconostasis was created using artificial intelligence, a fact confirmed by the Hive Moderation tool.”
