Voting during Eurovision National Selection Finals caused Diia app to crash, delay in announcing results

A record number of people tried to vote on Diia during Eurovision National Selection Finals, causing the app to crash, said Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Facebook on Feb.3.
"Today saw the highest number of Diia users in the history of the project,” Fedorov stated.
He added that, instead of 800 requests per second, as occurred during voting last year, there were 15 thousand requests per second. Although the capacity of the app had been increased, it received 20 times more requests causing a huge queue in the voting system.
He promised that a detailed analysis was underway and said that changes would be implemented to ensure that Diia would be ready for traffic spikes in the future.
"The situation has already been stabilized, everyone will be able to vote now, at night and throughout the day tomorrow, Feb. 4," Fedorov said.
