Shakhtar's Brazilian legionnaires speak Ukrainian — video

FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian striker Eguinaldo and left winger Newerton have adapted quickly to the Ukrainian team, as shown in a video from the club’s training camp in Turkey posted by the Shakhtar’s press service on X (Twitter) on Jan. 16.
In the video, Eguinaldo and Newerton demonstrated their Ukrainian language skills, sparking a wave of admiration among fans.
"Gentle Ukrainization is working at 100%," said one user.
Another fan wrote: "Well done! Keep up the good work! Thanks for trying to learn our language. Hats off to you!"
"A few more words and you can start thinking about naturalization in the national team,” said another.
FC Shakhtar Donetsk received a warm welcome at Tokyo's National Stadium on Dec. 18, where it played a charity match against Avispa Fukuoka in front of thousands of fans and more than 600 Ukrainian refugees.
The team was particularly impressed by one Japanese fan who learned the Ukrainian national anthem in two days and sang it for the camera before the match.
