Olympic champion thanks Oliynykova for donating prize money to Ukraine's military

Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oliynykova, ranked No. 44 in the WTA, donated all of her prize money from the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto to support Ukraine's Armed Forces.
The athlete earned $18,420. She distributed all of the prize money between two Ukrainian military units.
The Spalakh Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign received 675,000 hryvnias.
The tennis player donated another 154,000 hryvnias to the Ground Robotic Systems Company of the 413th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment RAID.
"For me, constantly supporting the Ukrainian army is my duty, my foundation and my humanitarian mission as an athlete," Oleksandra said.
Two-time Stanley Cup champion Dominik Hasek thanked Oliynykova for donating all of her prize money from the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Very well done. And thank you very much! You are also helping our country and all of Europe resist Russian imperialism and terrorism," Hasek wrote.
The Ukrainian was eliminated in the first round of the Toronto tournament, losing to Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova, ranked No. 66 in the WTA rankings.
It was previously reported that Oliynykova accused the WTA of derailing a charity auction ahead of the Toronto tournament.
