Ukrainian Sidey secures debut UFC win over American fighter
Ukrainian fighter Serhiy Sidey (11-2), competing in the bantamweight division, has secured his second fight in the UFC.
At UFC Fight Night 246 in Canada, Sidey defeated American fighter Garrett Armfield (10-5).
The fight went the full three rounds, with Sidey claiming victory by a split decision—29-28, 29-28, 29-28.
This marks Sidey’s first UFC win. His debut fight in the UFC took place in January this year, where he lost to Tavares.
Sidey earned his UFC contract after winning on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2023.
Earlier reports noted that a Russian fighter made a controversial boxing debut, knocking out an Iranian opponent with a head kick.
