Elon Musk regrets posts about Trump, admits they went too far
Elon Musk, American oligarch and former ally of President Donald Trump, expressed regret for posts about the president that sparked a public dispute, stating they went “too far,” he wrote on X on June 11.
Musk said the conflict with Trump, fueled by his critical posts, had escalated excessively.
“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” he wrote.
Public dispute between Trump and Musk
The feud began after Musk resigned from the Trump administration on May 29, when his term as a special government employee ended.
He publicly criticized a massive spending bill passed by the House at Trump’s urging, calling it contrary to goals of reducing government expenditure.
Musk claimed Trump would have lost the election without his support and accused him of ingratitude, while Trump said Musk “lost his mind” and expressed deep disappointment.
On June 5, Musk posted that Trump was linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case, implying this was why related documents remained unreleased. He later deleted the post.
On June 7, Trump declared their friendly relationship over, with no intention to reconcile.
