Former Ukrzaliznytsia chief Kamyshin becomes Zelenskyy advisor
The former head of state rail transport company Ukrzaliznytsia, Alexander Kamyshin, has been appointed a part-time adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President’s Office announced on March 3.
Kamyshin announced that he was stepping down as board chairman for Ukrzaliznytsia on Feb. 27.
According to Kamyshin, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov wants him to head the office for Ukrzaliznytsia’s European integration.
Yevhen Lyashchenko was named acting chair of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Kamyshin has earned widespread praise for his management of Ukrzaliznytsia in wartime, with the rail company organizing the mass evacuation of millions of Ukrainians from frontline areas to the west of the country.
