France pledges Mirage aircraft delivery to Ukraine: French Ambassador

France is clearly committed to military support for Ukraine, including transfer of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft, as training of personnel for them will last several months, French Ambassador to Ukraine Gael Veyer said, Ukrinform reported on July 15.
He also clarified that the agreement provides, in particular, for the supply of Scalp missiles and Aster missiles for SAMP/T air defense. The French authorities also announced their desire to provide Ukraine with a certain number of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft.
"All of these areas are in addition to the supplies that have been taking place for a long time - French Caesar artillery systems," he said.
Regarding the transfer of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft to Ukraine, the ambassador said that this commitment will be fulfilled.
"There were very clear commitments made by French authorities, and they will be honored, there is no doubt about it," he added.
"The content of these commitments has not been published, and I will not make any new announcements in this regard today either. But I say once again that all this is happening in close coordination with the military leadership of Ukraine. We are talking about several months."
On June 6, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the transfer of Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine and pilot training in France.
