Germany delivers tanks and air defense systems as covert aid to Ukraine

Germany quietly sent military aid to Ukraine in late June and early July, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, and IRIS-T air defense systems, the German newspaper Merkur reported on July 15, citing German Defense Ministry data.
The aid package included 39 tanks provided by Germany's defense industry and Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces), the journalists said.
Ukrainian Armed Forces last week received 10 Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks and another 20 Marder IFVs from Germany.
Germany has increased the number of Marder vehicles supplied to 120, and refurbished Leopard tanks to 50, the journalists said.
Germany supplied an extra IRIS-T SLM (previously three) and another IRIS-T SLS system (previously one).
The provided equipment list now includes three HIMARS systems.
Ukraine additionally received two Biber bridge layer tanks, two Dachs engineer tanks, two recovery tanks, and four mine-clearing tanks Wisent 1, the journalists said.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
