Ukrainian Defense Minister says half of weapons from Western partners are not delivered on time
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has stated that promises to deliver aid do not always mean that Ukraine receives it in a timely manner, during remarks made at the Ukraine 2024 Forum on Feb. 25.
“Currently, aid allocation does not always mean aid provision, as 50% is not delivered on time," Umerov said.
"If we look at the enemy, their economy is about $2 trillion, and they use up to 15% for the war, which is more than the promised $150 billion.”
According to him, Ukraine is losing personnel and territory due to delays in the supply of weapons. Umerov noted that allies must ensure timely supplies.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that without US support, "not all Ukrainians will survive." Zelenskyy also reported on the difficult situation at the front. According to him, the occupiers are taking advantage of the delay in Western military aid.
The head of the EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the Ukrainian army was experiencing difficulties at the front due to a lack of ammunition. The politician called on European countries to urgently supply Ukraine with ammunition.
