HUR Special Forces execute secret missions in Tendra Spit raid, Ukrainian military says
Ukraine's Military Intelligence's Special Forces carried out secret missions in their overnight raid on the temporarily occupied Tendra Spit in the Black Sea northern part, Ivan Tymochko, the Ukrainian Army’s Reservists Council Chair, said on national television on Aug. 8.
These missions are aimed at achieving long-term results.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on Russian air defense systems, airfields, and ships have reduced the enemy's control over the Black Sea compared to last year, Tymochko said.
He attributed this success to "good reconnaissance."
"This means we have a good network of agents in the Crimea. It allows us to know about the 'blind spots' in the Russian sea control system."
Artan Active Action Unit's Special Forces and HUR’s Naval Center conducted a successful raid on the Tendra Spit overnight on Aug. 6, destroying enemy armored vehicles, including MT-LBs, an electronic warfare system, and Russian fortifications.
The Ukrainian military intelligence officers, having completed their mission, including its secret part, withdrew without losses.
This is not the first successful operation by the HUR Special Forces on Tendra Spit.
"These actions are only part of the large-scale plan of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine," the source in Ukrainian Intelligence added.
Tendra Spit is a narrow island about 40 miles long and up to 1 mile wide, located in the northern part of the Black Sea, off the coast of Kherson Oblast.
