Kremlin calls Trump-Zelenskyy clash at White House 'unprecedented'
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the heated exchange between U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House an “unprecedented event,” Russian state media outlet TASS reported on March 3.
Repeating Kremlin propaganda, Peskov accused Zelenskyy of supposedly “not wanting peace” and instead seeking to prolong the war. He claimed that in such a scenario, “efforts from just the U.S. and Russia are not enough” to end the war in Ukraine—despite the fact that Russia, the aggressor state, launched the full-scale invasion.
Peskov also asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “aware of all the nuances” of the confrontation between Trump and Zelenskyy.
“And, of course, Zelenskyy in many ways has likely demonstrated a complete lack of diplomatic skills,” the Kremlin mouthpiece cynically remarked.
