Kyiv Metro justified fare tops 30 hryvnias, won’t be raised during war
The justified fare for travel on the Kyiv metro has exceeded 30 hryvnias, Metro Director Viktor Brahinskiy said in an interview with LB.ua, on Jan. 18.
He emphasized that the fare issue falls outside the purview of the Kyiv Metro.
“We are not raising the fare, but annually we provide data to the Department of Economics on the cost of passenger transportation and the economically justified fare,” said Brahinskiy.
The last fare increase happened in 2018. Since then, expenses for electricity have risen.
Nevertheless, Brahinskiy emphasized that during the war, the fair will not increase. Currently, the cost of a trip on the Kyiv metro is eight hryvnias.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
