Ukraine’s intelligence chief Budanov knows culprit behind his wife’s poisoning

Ukrainian HUR military intelligence service chief, Kyrylo Budanov, knows who is behind the poisoning of his wife, Mariana Budanova, he said in an interview with the French publication Liberation on Feb. 16.
Budanova is already feeling better, he said.
"Of course, I know," Budanov responded when asked if he was aware of who was involved in his wife’s poisoning.
"Since I did not consume the poison, it is difficult for me to say whether it was an attempt on my life. But I have already survived many attempts and will probably survive many more."
He hinted at corresponding actions by Ukraine on Russian territory in the near future.
The news of Budanova’s poisoning was first reported on Nov. 28. NV sources within Ukrainian intelligence told the publication that Budanova had been poisoned with heavy metals, including arsenic and mercury, but that the timely detection of the poisoning averted more severe consequences.
The sources also suggested that other personnel in HUR, beyond Budanova, may have also been poisoned.
The NYT reported that the poisoning incident may indicate that Russian agents are in closer proximity to the Ukrainian government than previously believed.
