Lithuania to allocate more than €10M to support Ukrainian children

Lithuania plans to allocate more than 10 million euros to support efforts to return Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, provide psychological and medical rehabilitation, strengthen child care systems and ensure accountability for war crimes, Andrii Sybiha said on May 11.
Sybiha met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys, focusing on support for Ukrainian children affected by Russia’s full-scale war.
“I am grateful to Lithuania for its commitment to allocate 10 million euros for measures related to the protection, return, rehabilitation and reintegration of Ukrainian children, as outlined in the Joint Declaration we signed today together with Minister Budrys,” Sybiha said.
The minister added that he was pleased to meet with Budrys to reaffirm the strength of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian partnership.
On April 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new sanctions against individuals involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories, concealing them and erasing their identities.
