Over 700,000 Ukrainians removed from wanted list on Reserve+ app
710,000 Ukrainians have been removed from the “ungrounded” wanted list in the Reserve+ military registration app, Deputy Defense Minister Kateryna Chornohorenko announced during a briefing on Nov. 18.
Some users of the app found out about their wanted status when they downloaded it, said the official.
3.5 million Ukrainians have already updated their military records using the Reserve+ app, she added.
Chornohorenko also stated that the number of Ukrainians updating their data in the app is increasing daily.
Conscription in Ukraine
A new mobilization law came into effect in Ukraine on May 18, setting a deadline for Ukrainian conscripts and reservists to update their military registration data.
According to The New York Times, Ukraine conscripted about 30,000 people per month after the new mobilization law took effect in May 2024.
However, by fall, the pace of conscription in Ukraine fell back to the May level—before the law was adopted—and it is now not even covering combat losses.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko announced on Oct. 29 plans to conscript an additional 160,000 people into the Defense Forces.
Ukraine needs to conscript 500,000 people, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Roman Kostenko, said on Nov. 5.
