Morning explosions heard in Russia-occupied Sevastopol, occupying ‘authorities’ report drone attacks

Explosions were heard in the Russia-occupied city of Sevastopol for the second time on the morning of July 16, according to reports on local Telegram channels at around 7:30 a.m.
Earlier, at approximately 5 a.m., Sevastopol also witnessed explosions. The occupying authorities claimed that the air defense forces and the fleet had successfully repelled “an attack by enemy UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).”
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the so-called “governor” of Sevastopol, claimed that UAVs had launched an assault on the city from the sea, specifically targeting the areas of Khersones, Sevastopol Bay, and Balaklava.
He reassured the local public, stating, “All city services are on high alert. We remain calm.”
In a subsequent comment, Razvozhayev mentioned that “two UAVs were shot down over the sea, and five were disrupted by electronic warfare forces.” Allegedly, two drone boats were also destroyed in the outer raid.
“The attack was massive and prolonged. Our military personnel engaged the targets both over the sea and near the bays,” he said. He further assured that there was no damage to the city's facilities or the surrounding waters. “Our military confidently and calmly repelled the attack of enemy drones on Sevastopol,” he said.
