Moscow’s fears of Ukraine’s counteroffensive will lead to mistakes, military expert

The Kremlin fears the Ukrainian counteroffensive and will therefore make mistakes, Center for Military Legal Studies head, Oleksandr Musiienko, told Radio NV on May 1.
"Let's ask two questions: first, do the Kremlin and the Russian military command fear the Ukrainian counteroffensive?" Musiienko asked.
“Of course, they do, they are afraid and wary, this is unequivocal.”
Only real combat operations can show whether the enemy is ready or not for the Ukrainian counteroffensive, he said.
"But the fact that they are afraid, nervous, that they are really taking some chaotic steps, I agree with you – it is true," he added.
“This shows that the enemy is reacting with uncertainty and nervously to Ukraine’s preparations for the counteroffensive, to the fact that we are finally getting more modern weapons, that we are training our forces at NATO training grounds. Of course, this puts pressure on the enemy, including psychological pressure, and I think it will lead to mistakes, that's for sure.”
Vehicle movement and artillery strikes were observed at the front line on April 30, and explosions were regularly heard hitting vital Russian targets in the occupied territories, reported CNN. The 72 hours prior especially revealed Russia's lack of readiness for the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on May 1 that preparations for the Ukrainian counteroffensive were in the home stretch.
