NABU raids former assistant of ex-Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office carried out a search on Sept. 15, involving Lesia Karnaukh, the former deputy of ex-Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko and former acting head of the State Tax Service, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing sources in political circles.
The anti-graft bodies did not provide an official comment on the reported search. In response to journalists’ requests, both NABU and SAPO said they would not comment on the information.
Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Karnaukh on the same day Kravchenko left the country.
Karnaukh was appointed acting head of the State Tax Service on June 23, 2025. Before that, she served as deputy head of the same agency.
From 2018 to 2023, she was deputy chief of staff at Ukraine’s Accounting Chamber. After that, she became deputy head of the Kyiv Oblast State Administration when Ruslan Kravchenko — now the former prosecutor general — was serving as governor there.
