National Police show aftermath of Russian missile attack on Kyiv Oblast
The head of the National Police of Kyiv Oblast, Andrii Nebytov, has posted photos showing debris from the latest Russian mass missile attack on the region.
In a Telegram messenger post on May 9, the official said that parts of an enemy missile had been discovered on the territory of a settlement in one of the regional districts. In addition, civil infrastructure has been partially destroyed.
“But thanks to the skillful work of the Ukrainian Air Defense, it was possible to avoid human casualties and turn another Russian cruise missile into scrap,” he said.
According to Nebytov, fragments of an enemy cruise missile were also discovered on the field in another district of the region. There were no casualties or damage, he added.
An air raid alert was triggered throughout Ukraine overnight on May 9. The Russians hit the capital city of Kyiv in another massive missile attack. Fortunately, no people were killed or injured as a result of the strike.
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, said that Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down 23 out of 25 missiles launched by Russia at Ukraine in the early hours of May 9.
