Africa's Niger has announced the cut of the diplomatic relations with Ukraine, accusing Kyiv of "supporting terrorist groups", Al Arabiya reported on August 7.
Niger, ruled by a military junta, "applied to the United Nations Security Council for a decision on Ukrainian aggression," government spokesperson Amadou Abdramane said at a broadcast on state television.
Mali cut off diplomatic relations with Ukraine for the same reason a few days before. The Ukraine's Foreign Ministry called this a "short-sighted decision of the Republic of Mali transitional government."
The Senegalese Foreign Ministry summoned the Ambassador of Ukraine, Yuriy Pyvovarov, over a post on the Embassy's Facebook where the Ukrainian diplomat allegedly expressed support for the Tuareg rebels in Mali.
