ROC believes God punishing Ukraine through Kakhovka dam explosion for Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra eviction
The
destruction of the Kakhovka
Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) by the
Russians is “punishment” for the eviction of the
Moscow Patriarchate from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery, hierarch of the
Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine (ROC) Iona (Cherepanov) wrote in a Facebook
post, before deleting it.
“Involuntarily, you begin to believe various prophecies related to the closure of the Lavra,” reads a screenshot of his post.
“The beginning of ‘commandeering’ — and immediately a flood in Kyiv; the order of the ‘Kulturführer’ (Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko) — a tragedy in Kakhovka. What will happen if ‘(Chechen warlord Ramzan) Kadyrov’s friend’ can stop the prayer in the Garden of the Virgin (Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra).”
In the comments to his post, netizens pointed out that the Kakhovka HPP had been blown up by the Rashists (Russian fascists) and had nothing to do with events at the monastery.
Meanwhile, a ROC priest who is likely involved in subversive activities in Ukraine has been detained in Kyiv Oblast, the State Border Guard Service reported on June 9.
Ukrainian border guards found Russian phone numbers, Russian literature and a thank-you note from the head of Russia’s Tver metropolitan dated 2023.
