Moscow alleges drone attacks targeted Crimea, Russia's Krasnodar Krai
Drones attacked Russia’s Krasnodarsky Krai region and Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea overnight on Sept. 21-22, the Russian Ministry of Defense has claimed.
Air defense systems allegedly shot down two UAVs over the Black Sea and in the Tuapsinsky District of Kransondarsky Krai. Tuapse regional authorities claimed that there was no damage from the shoot-down.
Explosions have been heard regularly in Crimea in recent days. In particular, on Sept. 21, they were heard in the city of Sevastopol and in Balaklava. The day before, the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the damage to the command post of the Russian Black Sea Fleet near Verkhniosadove, in the vicinity of Sevastopol.
NV's sources in Ukraine’s SBU security service said that during a special operation, the SBU, the Air Force, and the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck Russian manpower and expensive military systems that were located at this base.
Overnight on Sept. 20-21, Ukraine attacked the Saky airfield in Crimea with first drones and then Neptune missiles, causing serious damage to enemy equipment. According to NV sources, there were at least 12 combat aircraft (Su-24 and Su-30) and a Pantsir air defense system at the airfield. A Mojaher UAV operator training base is also located there.
