Ukraine will win the war and remain a free and independent country, US President Joe Biden said at the NATO summit opening in Washington, Interfax-Ukraine reported on July 10.
He highlighted overwhelming Russian losses in the war, and that fact that Ukraine remains free, despite Russian threats to seize Kyiv in a few days.
"Make no mistake, Russia will lose this war," Biden said. "More than two years have passed since the start of the war initiated by (Russian dictator Vladimir — ed.) Putin, and its losses are staggering: more than 350,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and wounded."
About a million Russians left their country because they "no longer see a future in Russia," Biden said.
"And most importantly. Do you remember, Kyiv was supposed to fall in five days? After two and a half years, we stand and will withstand."
Putin believed before the war that NATO will collapse, Biden noted. However, the Alliance is now stronger than at any time in its history.
Ukraine is still a free country today, Biden assured.
"The war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country. Russia will not win. Ukraine will win."
He also announced additional air defense systems prompt transfer to Ukraine at the opening summit ceremony.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
