Russia aims to create a new army of over 100,000 people, which could signal new summer offensive
Russia is creating a new armed force consisting of more than 100,000 people, which means that a summer offensive can not be ruled out, Ground Forces commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Pavlyuk, said on national television on March 22.
“We are not fully aware of Russian plans, but they are creating a group of more than 100 thousand soldiers,” he said.
"It will not necessarily be an offensive. Perhaps they will replenish their units with these soldiers, units that are losing combat capability."
There is still a possibility that "by the beginning of the summer, they may have some forces for offensive operations in one of the directions, he added.
The Armed Forces will do everything to inflict as many losses to the enemy as possible, so that all the resources they are forming will be involved in the battle by this time, said Pavlyuk.
"We are preparing for different situations."
It is too early to say that Russian offensive is slowing down at the front, he emphasized earlier. The "positional war" is ongoing, and Ukraine cannot yet gain an advantage, as the aggressor country has significant resources.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
