Russian missile attack devastates Sumy: 10 killed, dozens injured, hundreds evacuated
Ten people, including 2 children, were killed and more than 50 others were injured in a Russian missile strike that damaged a nine-story apartment building in the Ukrainian administrative center of Sumy late on Nov. 17, the State Emergencies Service reported on Telegram, posting photos of search and rescue efforts.
Ten other residential buildings and numerous cars were also damaged. More than 400 residents were evacuated.
Shortly after midnight, Russian forces carried out the second strike, causing a blackout in the city. According to regional authorities, a critical infrastructure facility was targeted.
Earlier in the same day, the UN reported that at least 183 civilians, including nine children, were killed in Ukraine in October as a result of the full-scale Russian aggressiont. More than 900 people were injured, including 49 children.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
