Russian-led forces in Luhansk call for immediate ‘referendum’ on joining Russia

Russian proxy forces in the sham republic in Ukraine’s Luhansk Oblast have called for an immediate “referendum” on recognizing the occupied Ukrainian territories as part of Russia, Russian media outlet RIA Novosti reported on Sept. 19.
“The People’s Chamber of the LPR appealed to the head of the republic with the initiative to immediately hold a referendum on recognizing it as a subject of the Russian Federation,” the propagandists said.
Russian puppet authorities also claim the accession of the Ukrainian region to Russia will allegedly protect them.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to liberate settlements in the east and south of Ukraine from the Russian invaders.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sept. 18 said Ukrainian troops continue preparations for further actions at the front.
Earlier Luhansk Governor Serhiy Hayday announced the Armed Forces of Ukraine had liberated several settlements in Luhansk Oblast.
