Russian missile strike kills at least three in Mykolaiv, including child
A Russian missile struck a residential area in Mykolaiv on Friday, July 19, resulting in multiple casualties, according to Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych. Explosions were heard in the city, with reports of injuries and fatalities.
The death toll from the Russian attack has risen to three, including a child, Senkevych stated. The monitoring Telegram channel "Nikolaevsky Vanek" reported that the child was around 10 years old.
"The child took the brunt of the missile and didn't make it to the building entrance in time," the channel reported.
Preliminary information indicates that the Russians hit a residential area with an Kh-59 missile.
Earlier, the mayor had reported one fatality.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that a Russian missile hit a playground, wounding five people.
"Russia proves its terror every day, showing that pressure on it is not enough. This destruction of life must be stopped. We need new solutions to support our defense. Russia must feel the power of the world," Zelenskyy wrote.
