Russian missile strike targets hotel in Kharkiv
Russian forces have hit a hotel in central Kharkiv with two missiles, injuring at least 10 people, Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said in a Telegram post on Jan. 10. The attack happened at 10:48 p.m.
"Another act of terrorism against civilians; the occupiers struck near a hotel in the center of Kharkiv with two missiles," he said.
According to the official, ten people were injured. One of the victims is in critical condition, one in moderate condition, and the rest have minor injuries.
"Among the injured were journalists from a Turkish media staying at the hotel," Syniehubov added.
Emergency services are still dealing with the aftermath of the attack.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Oleksandr Filchakov, the missiles were launched from Russia’s Belgorod Oblast. One missile hit the hotel building, while another exploded several meters away.
Over 30 civilians were in the building at the time of the attack, including 23 guests of the hotel.
