Russian Defense Ministry feeds its Muslim soldiers with pork
Corruption case investigation launched against the former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov found that the department fed its Muslim soldiers with pork, Kremlin propaganda media wrote.
Bulgakov was responsible for the troops' logistical support at the Russian Defense Ministry. He received kickbacks from the meat processing plant owner, Aleksandr Mikhailenko, who replaced the beef in the dry rations of the Russian soldiers with cheaper pork to cut down on expenses.
And since the labeling of the products was wrong, it was consumed, in particular, by Muslims who serve in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces, which is directly prohibited by their religion and is considered a grave sin.
Mikhailenko, who is the founder of a number of livestock enterprises, including the Krasnodar company Yasena's Trading House, has been taken into custody.
Bulgakov has already become the seventh high-ranking military official who has been arrested since April 2024 as part of the personnel purges of the Kremlin regime in the Russian Defense Ministry amid Sergey Shoigu's dismissal.
