Russian authorities plan secret burial for Ukrainian teens killed in Berdiansk

Russian occupation authorities in Berdiansk plan to secretly bury Ukrainian teenagers Tihran Ohannisyan and Mykyta Khanhanov, killed a year ago, the Media Initiative for Human Rights reported on July 3, citing Tihran's father.
The Media Initiative for Human Rights stated that the boys would be buried in an unmarked grave without notification to their families, labeling them as "terrorists."
The organisation has called on the Ukrainian government, the national ombudsman, and international organizations to intervene and prevent the dishonorable burial, urging that the bodies be returned to their relatives.
On June 24, 2023, the self-proclaimed “governor of Zaporizhzhya Oblast,” Vladimir Rogov, referred to the two teens as "terrorists" and confirmed their deaths by Russian forces. Human rights groups argue that the boys were unjustly targeted, claiming they were killed by snipers. The exact circumstances surrounding the alleged combat situation in which they died remain unclear.
Reports indicate that the teenagers had been persecuted for six months prior to their deaths. Ohannisyan, in particular, suffered abduction, detention, and torture at the hands of local collaborators aligned with Russian forces.
