Lviv mayor reports possible listening device found in official vehicle

A possible listening device was found in his official car,
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said in a video posted to his Telegram channel on
Sept. 18.
“Once again, we found a device resembling a listening
device. This time, in the official car,” the video caption said.
Sadovyi said he had already contacted law enforcement.
“There’s an antenna, some kind of SIM card, various devices.
Well, presumably they serve some purpose. Maybe these are listening devices,
because it’s hard to call them anything else. How did we find this? Over the
past month, the battery completely died twice. Plus, this pillar started
rattling. We took it apart, looked inside, and this is what we found,” Sadovyi
said in the video.
The Lviv mayor said he did not know who might be involved.
“If this was done officially, under a court order, by our
agencies — OK, please come and take it. If it doesn’t belong to anyone but
might be needed for some investigation, law enforcement can take a look at it
as well,” Sadovyi said.
He also recalled that a listening device had been found in
his office a year earlier. However, the mayor stressed that he never received
any specific answers from law enforcement.
Sadovyi reported the discovery of a listening device on
Sept. 17, 2025. He said the device had been found inside one of the phones on
his desk.
