Ukraine’s SBU turns Russian long-range radar in Bryansk Oblast into ‘swiss cheese’
Ukraine’s SBU Security Service destroyed Russian long-range
radar system Nebo-U in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast, which helped to detect
Ukrainian weapons and supported bombers attacking Ukrainian border with guided
bombs, NV reported citing source in SBU on April 16.
According to the source, $100 million radar was hit by seven
airplane-type suicide drones. It is not functional now and most likely “turned
into a swiss cheese”.
Russia now has fewer opportunities to detect air targets
along Ukraine’s northern border.
“Russian radar blindness will help our troops to conduct
reconnaissance, launch drones and use aviation in this area more efficiently,”
source added.
This is the second Nebo-U system destroyed by SBU’s 13th
Main Military Counterintelligence Directorate.
First one was destroyed in Belgorod Oblast of Russia.
Recently, the same unit also destroyed Kasta-2E2 radar
complex near temporarily occupied Ukrainian city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhya
Oblast.
