Seleznyov urges Ukrainian troops to hold Pokrovsk as Russia commits all resources to capture it

Military expert and former spokesman for Ukraine's General Staff Vladyslav Seleznyov told Radio NV that Russian forces are concentrating all available resources to capture Pokrovsk, the westernmost city in Donetsk.
He referenced comments from General Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukrainian military intelligence, who said Russia’s ability to conduct offensive actions may last until mid-to-late September.
Seleznyov noted that Ukrainian troops could hold out if they withstand the Russian assault for the next three weeks, despite Russia's numerical and aviation advantage.
He also highlighted that Russia has had to divert resources to Kursk Oblast, which requires significant personnel, straining their efforts. Despite fortifications in Pokrovsk, Seleznyov expressed concern about the effectiveness of defenses, given the need for well-trained and equipped personnel.
As of late Aug., Russian forces have made tactical gains near Pokrovsk, with local officials noting that 38,000 residents, including 1,900 children, remain in the city amid tightened curfew measures and plans to close banks.
