Poor life hack for draft dodgers: Ukrainian hides passport in casserole, hopes to reach Germany - Video
A 22-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih was detained while attempting to cross the mountainous section of the border with Romania in Zakarpattya Oblast, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service’s press service reported on Jan. 29.
"After watching video instructions on mountain tourism on the Internet, the young man independently planned a route from Ukraine to Romania through the Carpathian highlands and set out on a journey," the statement said.
To conceal his true intentions from border guards, he hid his passport in a plastic box with a casserole.
His ultimate goal, supposedly, was to reach Germany. Instead, he was charged attempting an illegal crossing of the state border.
Border guards believe that the man was influenced by advice from social media.
