Three dead, five injured in Russian strike on Kherson dormitory

Russian forces targeted residential areas in the city of Kherson in the early hours of Sept. 21, striking a dormitory, killing three civilians and leaving five others wounded.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration (OVA), said two men, aged 29 and 41 were inside the dormitory at the time of the strike and had been killed.
He added that two women, aged 44 and 57, along with a 49-year-old man had been taken to hospital with moderate injuries. An 81-year-old resident received medical assistance on the spot, Prokudin said.
Roman Mrochko, the head of the Kherson Regional Police, also reported that an 81-year-old woman who was in her apartment during the shelling had been killed in the attack.
The head of the Kherson OVA added that, over the past day, Russian invasion forces had fired a total of 41 artillery shells at Kherson.
Russian invasion forces continue to attack the city of Kherson on an almost daily basis. The city was the only major Ukrainian city captured by Russia in the early stages of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It was liberated on Nov. 11, 2022 after being under Russian military occupation for around nine months.
Russian forces struck the city on Sept. 20, and a trolleybus was hit the day before, resulting in injuries to passengers and the deaths of two individuals, including a police officer.
Russia falsely claims to have annexed Ukraine’s Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts. In fact, it controls none of these Ukrainian oblasts completely.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
