Washington may soon open a new U.S. Army base on Polish
territory, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sept. 17.
Trump made the statement in a post on his Truth Social platform.
“GREAT NEWS! Thanks to the bold leadership of my friend, Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, major progress is being made toward establishing a U.S. Army base in Poland,” Trump said.
“If this happens, the location will be announced very soon. This will be a historic step for our Great U.S./Polish Alliance. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
On Sept. 15, it was reported that the Polish military was building fortifications along the border and establishing surveillance and security posts near border crossings with Ukraine.
Poland also plans to equip more than 100 kilometers of its
border with Ukraine with a new electronic security system. The system will
include monitoring equipment and motion sensors and will supplement existing
physical barriers.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
