Russian strike on Zaporizhzhya kills two, including 8-year-old boy

Two people were killed and two others injured in a Russian strike on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya late on Sept. 2, regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported on Telegram the following morning.
“Around 23:00 (EET) Russia attacked the city. Unfortunately, two people were killed, including an 8-year-old boy,” he wrote.
“Two others were wounded, including a 12-year-old girl. The child is now in intensive care. The building was partially destroyed as a result of the enemy attack. The blast wave and debris damaged the nearby multi-story residential buildings.”
The Russian attack on the city comes hours after Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof made an unannounced visit to Zaporizhzhya to greet students on their first day of school alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
