Ukraine, Slovenia advance talks on joint Drone Deal agreement

Ukraine and Slovenia are currently preparing a Drone Deal defense cooperation agreement. The two sides have already discussed initial results and joint defense projects that could be implemented, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on X on Sept. 17.
"Today, a government delegation from Slovenia is in Kyiv, together with representatives of their leading companies," the Ukrainian president said.
“I met with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tone Kajzer and Minister of Defense Valentin Hajdinjak. Our countries are working on the Drone Deal, and we discussed the first results and joint defense projects that we can implement.”
He said he spoke extensively with the Slovenian delegation about Ukraine's future in a united Europe, regional security and Russia's continued attacks.
Zelenskyy thanked Slovenia for its $50 million contribution to the PURL program and for its overall support.
Drone Deal
The Drone Deal is a multiyear cooperation program between Ukraine and partner countries in the field of defense technology. It is a new key format of cooperation with partners under which Ukraine receives long-term annual funding for its defense-industrial complex.
In exchange, partner countries gain access to Ukraine's advanced defense technology developments.
The Drone Deal format includes both the rapid export of Ukraine's best combat-tested weapons and the development of cooperation between companies in Ukraine's defense-technology sector (MilTech) and corresponding companies in partner countries.
