Ukraine orders partial evacuation in Kherson Oblast
Ukrainian authorities have mandated an evacuation
of families with children from Kerson Oblast settlements that are routinely
attacked by Russian artillery, Kherson regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin
said in a Telegram post on Sept. 14.
"The Regional Defense Council of Kherson has made the decision to evacuate families with children from populated areas which are constantly under enemy fire", the message reads.
Additionally, the curfew in the region will now last from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Prokudin added that officials are preparing the energy infrastructure of Kherson Oblast for the coming heating season.
The Russian military shells various towns in Kherson Oblast almost daily.
On the night of Sept. 14, Russian artillery struck the village of Novodmytrivka in the region, killing a six-year-old child and injuring four other people.
