Ukrainian intelligence says another attack on Kyiv a ‘potentially suicidal move’ for Putin regime

While it is not ruled out that Russia may attack Kyiv again, Ukrainian intelligence believes Moscow currently lacks the means to do so, Andriy Yusov, spokesman for the Ukrainian military’s Main Intelligence Directorate or HUR said in an interview with news website Gazeta.ua on March 29.
“The border has been strengthened. The anti-aircraft and missile defense system is operational and has additional capabilities,” said Yusov.
“There is much more information available both in Ukraine and from our partners. An open war is already underway, and so there will be no element of surprise.”
“This does not mean that attempts will not be made, but it would be a suicidal move, since a repetition of the Feb. 24 effect is no longer possible,” Yusov added.
He also said that Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is continuing to try to involve Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko’s regime in full-scale participation in the war.
“We’re talking about a ground operation. But over the past year, nothing has succeeded. And there are no signs that it will happen anytime soon,” Yusov said.
The head of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, stated in February that there is no direct threat of an attack by the Russian military on Kyiv.
The capital’s authorities say they have prepared an action plan in the event of a repeated attack by the Russian invasion forces on Kyiv.
